ABOUT PANHELLENIC
Panhellenic Council
Greek life was founded at Florida Atlantic University in 1987 and there are currently four Greek councils , the Interfraternity Council, United Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Council.
The Panhellenic Council serves as the governing board for the seven National Panhellenic Conference chapters on campus, creating a sisterhood of over 1,200 women. Through educational, service, and social activities, the Panhellenic Council strives to develop its members and the student body. Our vision is to promote women in leadership, diversity, scholastic achievement, and service through relationships within and beyond the Panhellenic Community.

We, as undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community.
Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life.
The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet in which we strive to live.

What can joining a sorority do for me?
Joining a sorority is more than making lifelong friends. While that is a major aspect of greek life, there is so much more to gain from becoming a panhellenic woman.
it’s an opportunity for personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong connection. Through your membership, you’ll gain access to leadership roles within your chapter and the broader Panhellenic community, helping you build confidence, communication skills, and real-world experience.
Sororities are also deeply rooted in service and philanthropy. Each chapter supports meaningful causes, giving you the chance to make a positive impact through volunteer work, fundraising events, and community outreach. These experiences not only benefit others but also help you grow as a compassionate and socially responsible leader.
In addition, sorority life provides academic support, networking opportunities, and a strong sense of belonging. You’ll be surrounded by women who motivate you to succeed, celebrate your achievements, and support you through challenges, during college and long after graduation.
